Presidential candidates McCain and Obama A majority of Latin-Americans know little or nothing about the coming US presidential election but a modest majority, 29%, believe Democrat Barack Obama would be more convenient for the region, according to the 2008 version of the Santiago based Latino-barometer public opinion poll, which included three questions on the issue.

The poll which covers 18 countries of the region with 1.000 to 1.200 interviews per country to adults over 18 with an error margin of 2.8 to 3 percentage points shows that 40% of Latinamericans declare to know about, and follow the US presidential election.

When asked specifically which candidate would be more convenient for Latinamerica, an average 29% mentioned Obama and only 8% John McCain, while another 29% said it made no difference, 31% did not know and 2% did not reply

The country with greater knowledge of US elections is Dominican Republic, 60%, followed by Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica and El Salvador, in the range of 50% while bottom of the list is Paraguay with 22%.

Obama is the favorite candidate in Dominican Republic, 52%; Costa Rica, 43%; Uruguay and Brazil, 41%; Argentina, 36%; Chile, 32%; Mexico, 29%; Paraguay, Ecuador and Colombia, 27%; Venezuela, 26%; Peru, 23% and El Salvador, 22%. Below 20% come Nicaragua, Panama, Bolivia, Guatemala and Honduras.

McCain is the choice in Colombia, 19%; El Salvador, 16%; Mexico, 11%; Brazil, 10%; Honduras, 9%; Costa Rica, Guatemala and Venezuela, 8%; Ecuador, 7%; Panama, Paraguay, Chile, Uruguay and Nicaragua, 6%; Bolivia, 5%; Peru, 4% and 3% in Argentina.

As to how much attention the new US president will dedicate to Latinamerica, replies are more diverse: 39% Dominican Republic; 31% Brazil; 29% Costa Rica and Uruguay; Venezuela and Mexico, 27%; Colombia, 25%; Argentina and Paraguay, 24%; Nicaragua, 21%; Chile and Ecuador, 19%; Peru, 16%; Guatemala and Panama, 15%.

Who are most pessimistic about the next US president and Latinamerica are Argentines and Mexicans, 44%; El Salvador, 41%; Chile, 40%; Costa Rica, 39%; Honduras and Brazil, 35% and 32% Uruguay.

Observe the manipulation
written by dnbaiacu, October 29, 2008
Artists conceptions and photos of the candidates almost consistently show how the "hidden" establishment wants you to vote.
Not taking anything away from Obama or McCain or in support of either one. But they don't even attempt portray McCain in a more flattering and appealing way. Granted he needs "a lot" of help. But isn't it quite obvious they don't give him ANY smilies/cheesy.gif smilies/cheesy.gif :

The Devil is so astute. He makes you beg for what he manipulates you to want. smilies/wink.gif
(crooked central banks)
"CHANGE came way before this election.
My son, fear the Lord and the king. With those who are for a change, do not intermeddle. 22 For their disaster will arise so suddenly, that who is aware of the extinction of those who are for a change? Proverbs 24:21

I wonder if this is a sign? We'll see........

Obama stay home
written by Freemon Sandlewould, March 15, 2009
So I thought by coming to Brazil I could get away from hearing about his lord most merciful Barack Obama by returning to Brazil for another extended stay. The crisis has slowed down business to the point that its not that much of a loss for me. I am tired of the press fawning and standing in line to provide Obama with oral favors whilst on their knees. What have I found out? Many Brazilians see right through "The Messiah". Many people from Portugal also. The press always trys to paint the rest of th world as gullible fools that support the democrat party line but let me tell you that is a completely confected story.

So what happens? There is talk of Obama visiting Brazil. I have already given up the brazilian fist bump because Obama uses it. Please do not make me give up my paradise Brazil Mr President. Please do not visit. There is nothing for you here. Just a beautiful country with beautiful people who you would be very out of place with given your finger flipping white person hating self. I’m just a typical white person who left the god damned country because I can not stand your psycho babble leftist policies that are a flimsy excuse to loot the country.

Can you just please stay away? They know you are a fraud just as much as I do. Brazil has had MORE than its share of charlatans and they spot you coming a 6000 miles away.

…. oh and by the way….most people I know here think Lula is a putz. A socialist using tax money to buy votes just like you do. In fact he wants the term limits lifted so he can run YET again. In a country that was a military dictatorship until only 25 years ago you can imagine that goes over like a lead balloon.

I am curious of one thing however. When you in the press and John Stewart are providing your oral favors to Obama does he like it more straight on or more of a from the side thing? I guess we would know if you did your job and interviewed Mr. Sinclair.
