Defense minister Nelson Jobim had sought Peri's counsel on how to proceed with the case.

It proves Jobim is a "Bundão". Scared shitless of confronting directly an honest and blunt General who spoke his mind. Probably he evaded the draft and never served in the armed forces. A disgrace to the Russian Admiral´s uniform he wears when visiting Haiti or posing for pictures for the local press in that.smilies/wink.gif

yes he is a ''bundao'' but only because hes afraid of the rigthwing military commanders, who are still alive who participated in that us supported coup over goulart in 60's.He is also a ''bundao''because once the truth commission was created he buckled under military pressure and decided to side with the removal of the heading ''political repression''from the report into ''truth commission.''what this means is that this commission to investigate crimes of the past appears to signal danger to elements wich are still very much active in higher military ranks even those who have retired yet carry clout within armed forces.
All of them should be dismissed

None of them seems to understand what their role is within a CIVILIAN GOVERNMENT, thus the defense minister plus the head of the three armed forces should also be dismissed.

Dr.Jobim, the defense minister is a civilian, lawyer, jurist and ex-president of supreme court. No possible to dismiss him. Easy to dismiss generals.
