Rio mudslide Rio's rains now have killed at least 180 people and over 14,000 were left homeless in a storm that devastated Brazil's state of Rio de Janeiro since Monday evening, authorities informed.

2004 -studies showed then that the disused landfill in Niteroi was a high risk area.The Mayor at the time was GODOFREDO PINTO (PT),- nota bene- who has yet to appear in public...(Folha online, cotidiano,9/04).

Where are the other city councillors, state deputies and senators? Aren't they supposed to be accountable? Where is the Brazilian press? Shouldn't they be putting some seriously awkward questions to these people? HALLO, IT'S ELECTION TIME!
