SADNESS // partial reason to be hopeful // but WORRIED for Brazil's future
written by Augustus, July 04, 2010
To think that I have always wanted to see a Lady elected president of Brazil, and now that I see two female candidates whose platform I could NEVER ever EVER (and I mean EVER) approve, it feel heart broken. Ideology aside, I consider females much more balanced and generally more stable at any leading role... Yet, I am delighted that Brazilians have demonstrated sufficient maturity to accept the concept of a lady at the highest office of the country.

The bottom line is that, not only I could never vote for any candidate for a corrupt party with a clear (hypocritical) socialist agenda, but also consider absurd that a former criminal, a former terrorist, a THIEF (Ladra) & ASSASSIN has been nominated... Specially due to her obvious association with Hugo Chavez (which Ms Rousseff continues to avoid admitting EVEN when asked by interviewers a direct question...

This honorable gentleman - Deputado Federal Paes de Lira - listed, among several issues, his refusal to endorse a candidate with such an abysmal criminal record, which includes association (if not participation) with Bank robberies, murder of Military police in Sao Paulo (in dismal fashion - officers burned alive), among other records (which surely includes kidnapping of the American Ambassador). Mr. Paes Lira further informed that he

I am afraid therefore that you wont vote at all.
Because all political parties in Brazil are corrupted to the roots.
