Building costs in Brazil?

It's really great that places like Universities are leading the way and setting the standards for sustainable building. I'm always interested in the economic balance of sustainable building, because it is a big factor in convincing clients, so I noted that the Chancellor is investing $2.1 million in the project.
What is this number? Is it the total cost? USP's partial investment in a multi-donor project? Just the cost of the sustainability technology? For a 6000 square meter building, that isn't much money... about $350/sqm if my maths are right.
Can we have some more info? - biboch

Give an example of an American--top one or two, investing in such technology? Please, all universities in the U.S. are scrambling for money right now! Gimme a break, the poor here will continue to dream about the American dream (turned nightmare). Although, top ten continue to receive a lot of grants and money from state, private institutions are feeling the pinch. How else do you think students fund themselves? With loans and those are hard to come by these days!

Well done for USP, now other states, the less fortunate northern states need basic elementary education, don't worry about solar panels, just give the kids some books and pay teachers a good wage! - Shelly1
