Also, I don't think making abortion illegal has necessarily stopped the practice:women in countries where the procedure is illegal simply terminate their pregnancies "under the table," so to speak. Please wake up to what this is saying about our humanity. In essence, we in the US have said that life is worthless as long as it is defenseless. Where are those who stand up for the poor, the needy, the underprivileged? I grew up in Brasil, and the one thing that always stands out in my mind about the Brasilian people is that they love children and will stop anything to delight in a child and protect it from harm. I know that has not changed, and I pray that it never will.
