Although I dont like Lula and his government, I also believe it is unfair to to say it is a vote of non confidence !!!!

Gun deaths in Brazil have doubled from 1992 to 2004. The approximate numbers are from 18000 in 1992 to 39000 in 2003.
The number came down to around 36000 in 2004 due the Lula\'s law that offered money to those who surrendered their gun.
Lula cannot be held responsible for the growth in gun deaths....before he was elected !!!!! smile......

This said, it is truly alarming that gun deaths DOUBLED IN A DECADE...even after the reduction mentioned !!!!!!

Corrupted politicians dont go to jail but at most ....just a few them here and there....are just fired. Most resign and then can go to the next election....as if they did nothing wrong !!!!i
Policemen are often also involved in drug traficking, or bribed and corrupted, close their eyes on what they see and know!!!Policemen are themselves killers of thousands of inoccent citizens...yearly....but like politicians....just a few go to jail !!!!

So why would anybody care as long as the government doest not act....first to their own crimes ????????????

Another alarming statistic is that 50 % of deaths between youths aged 15 to 24 is due to....violent deaths !!!!!

A true Brazilian tragedy....that should have government priority...!!!!!! - Guest</description>
