If 30 times more people were arrested but only 130 % more pirated goods were confiscated, this shows that the Government did not go after the big smugglers but only after the little street dealers.

And Lula is proud of this achievement.
Where do the government perceive the progress, knowing that US$ 84 millions represents less than 1 % of all the piracy.
Even 10 times more would represent only 10 % !!!!!!

Still a long way to go, but statistics clearly show that contrary to the government affirmation, they dont do the job they are supposed to do.

2006 being an election year, large amounts of money are needed for the PT party in the Caïxa 2, Caïxa3, Caïxa4.

As it is more difficult to get illegally money from pension funds, banks and state owned corporations, the Government has probably made a deal with the large smugglers, where the source of money anyway cannot be traced in case the CMPI will do an investigation.

the Government probably said to the large smugglers : if you give large amounts of cash to the PT party, we wont arrest you and you can continue to do your illegal business. - Guest
