It was a very dangerous and corrupt city. Gangs ruled it. There was much fear to be in the city at night. Everyone I knew had been mugged. It took about 20 years to reverse the crime rate. It took strong local leaderhip that was willing to do things. Corruption had to be stopped, the crime has to be stopped. Now it is a relatively safe city. Brazil can do the same thing. They need more police work like this. They need to throw these criminals in jail. The corrupt judges that let these crimals go free are killing you. These judges that take bribes need to be put in jail. It can be done. It has been done in other countries. Brazil is a beautiful country full of good people, but run by gangs and a corrupt government. You can do it !!!!!
