			<description>Initially, the president's press office informed that Pires had offered his resignation. Pires, however, protested and a new version was given, this time stating that the minister had been fired by Lula this morning. The new defense minister should be sworn in today at 4 pm. 

The minister´s bumpy ride in the DEFENCE ministry ends here. But not his career. I am sure Lula will give him another Ministry ,so that he can remain in Power.Just wait and see.Pires is not that sort of guy who would give up a job and power so easily, without being offered another post.

As for the new comer Jobim,it is a ploy to please the Gauchos who know him quite well. I dont think that they would fall for this charade. Remember that many of the victims of TAM were Gauchos. Try to connect it with the new appointment. - João da Silva</description>
