Was introduced to H.Stern's stores while visiting Brazil last year. Now I know more about the person who started it all. May God bless his business and his family, even though he is gone. - Yowser

Philip, very good article. I am from Rio and have been many times to Stern's jewelery store. I have to say that the service is one of the best in the world. To begin with, it doesn't really matter if you are at the store to buy a small ring or a very expensive earrings, the service and the staff are fantastic and they will make you fell welcomed. I went there last year to the store in Ipanema and bought a beautiful ring. The staff could speak several languages, from Dutch to Japanese. Hans believed in service, courtesy and quality. Your article reflects his thinking about the manner in which he conducted his business. You can go to the most expensive store here in the States, and you will never be able to compare the experience of buying a jewelery at the H.Stern's store. My wedding ring and everything that I have I bought it there, because the way the store handles the clients, keeps me coming back.
