Flattering Amusing & Faithful Dots....

Hopefully neither a recent blogger nor a passing visitor will not stumble upon these lines, lest my sanity be questioned..

Always amusing, unfailingly cunning and increasingly supportive, the group of faithful Dots which I appear to have gathered under my “protection” have grown to become so significant a “fixture” for the backdrop of my comments, essays and analysis, that I have recently realized that disappointment is likely to emerge if they adopted an aloof position and disappear for extensive periods of time…

Indeed, whenever my esteemed “Dots” remain absent from any particular thread, even those rich with controversial debates & philosophical discussions, in time such thread is likely to acquire a relatively incomplete aspect… Indeed, any section deprived of the clever dots is bound to be deficient, not only of additional intellectual contributions, but also of certain special qualities which only the “Clever Dots” appear to be either willing or able to provide.

With Spurs Witty irony, attacks of “double-entendre” and surprising instigating postures, the rascal “Dots” appear to be always ready to challenge “innocent Bloggers” into the outer boundaries of acceptable behavior, in ways which are bound to be considered inappropriate for a “proper gentleman”

Now, why on Earth (as well as Uranus or even Alpha Centaury), is everybody is talking about the rascal? Enough already! Even I have just concluded elsewhere a detailed explanation to a recent Blogger who was commenting on his outrageous style, questioning why nobody seemed to object to his insults… Why indeed? LOL (I provided the new blogger with full clarification regarding the existence the significant previous “reviews”)

Milord, I know tow and ask your forgiveness, once again. All the Dots are aware that you already "concluded elsewhere a detailed explanation to a (not so) recent blogger who is showering insults (in his not so subtle form). You seem to be handling extremely well and we could easily observe that he has nothing to enhance nor enrich our knowledge of history, philosophy, economics, world trade or for that matter "international culture" . I don't think you need any reinforcement right now,but we will be monitoring the interesting verbal duel and needless to say will take your side asking some interesting and thought provoking questions. :D

btw, I think you are giving a good "minjada" and very few are able to perceive it ;D - Double-Dot

D.D. - Clever correspondence between the "Dots" // More on "missing" rascals

I must admit, Double-Dot, that your cunning abilities should perhaps be considered "borderline" dangerous...

Indeed! The sudden appearance of correspondence between the "dots" is nearly convincing. There is nothing like establishing clear evidence to counter future "claims" questioning one's “flexibility” in the utilization of anonymity...

As for the closing remarks on the Swiss Blogger (by Jupiter!), I must wholeheartedly concur... He will return (sooner rather than later), just like the usual "Bull" never minding the "china" in display...

Esteemed Four-Dots,

I am a little concerned about our "contact" in Geneva..maybe he has found someone significant???

So am I concerned about the fate of our agent in Geneva. I am considering various possibilities. a) He could have found someone extremely significant during his latest visit to Morocco. He has confessed that he visits that wretched place quite frequently b) He is Beijing for the closing ceremony of the Games c) He was on that ill fated flight to the Canary Islands.

If he does not respond within the next week, consider him compromised (one way or other) and close his file. No pension allowed for his next of kin, from any government.

BUT BUT BUT, my instinct tells me that he is going to come back barging like a bull in a China shop, once he gets our coded message. - ..

I definitely would enjoy reading additional articles written by the gentleman under consideration (in the original language, naturally) especially concerning a completely Brazilian issue (but one with which I happen to be acquainted, for, as you might anticipate, I hardly ever read any Brazilian Newspaper or magazine, as I'm generally too lazy to make a trip to 46th Street -Little Brazil - where many older issues are available for sale)

No need to walk all the way to the 46th street to get back issues of his articles, in the modern era of the Internet. You have to click on the following links which were cited at the end of the article:

1)www.olavodecarvalho.org

2) www.midiasemmascara.org.

The second one is a sort of an alternative medium, though one does not have to believe in all it says.

Another link to know what our old uniformed gentlemen in their long johns say is:

http://www.clubemilitar.com.br/site/index.asp.

Finally I trust I must express my gratitude for your indirect assistance in gradually opening my horizons in respect of our native country, with which I lost so much contact, as to have almost become a complete alien outsider...

You are most welcome. Glad to be of assistance. - João da Silva

Hmmmm... I see your point quite clearly.

I assure you that the word "populism" caught my eye last night, but I failed to follow the logical implication...

I was also wondering about the impeccable flow of the English prose, so unusual for any foreigner (writing in any foreign language) unless part of his upbringing occurred within such culture of "milieu" (which was my original assumption)

Brilliantly well written – a valiant effort of the right wing of the political spectrum

Thanks for taking time your precious time of to read that article and post your comments. The following are my observations:

1) His original article was in Portuguese and was translated into English and printed in this magazine. If you read the last paragraph again, you will notice that he was pointing out the perils of electing a candidate based on "Populism". Therefore he was referring more to the LatAM countries than to U.S. elections and his original article was not exactly meant to influence the U.S .voters. Considering that his articles are hardly published in this site, I wonder what prompted the editors to do so before the U.S. elections.

2) I have read his other articles about Brazil and I do not consider him as a "Ultra Right" radical out to enslave the "proletariats . He is one of very few journalists who form a responsible "opposition party". Sadly we do not have any real opposition leader nor parties who challenge the actions of the government.

3) Unfortunately, in a country where voters are more influenced by the TV networks and a small percentage reads the Newspapers and News magazines, his views do not weigh that much in their decisions. That was the reason I keep on saying that our municipal elections are an important forthcoming event.

4) Since you have taken interest in the affairs of your native country very recently, I thought you might like to read the article to get a different point of view . I am glad you liked it. - João da Silva

tHIS IS WHAT I HAVE ALREADY POSTED "IN LOCUS" - THIS IS YOUR "PRIVATE VIEW"... Yet, it's very late here, and I do intend to revisit the article again, as outlined in my "official comment", as follows:
------------------------------------------
There is no question that Mr. Olavo de Carvalho is extremely eloquent, well read, and with significant insight into the American socio-political system.

Although I intend to revisit this article again later, my first impression is that Mr. de Carvalho is either an innocent victim or a deliberate spokesman of the American Far Right.

Indeed, he appears to have been either deeply influenced by concerted efforts of elements within the extreme right of the political spectrum, thus becoming an intellectual captive to a cunning political abilities for persuading innocent victims; or he may actually represent one of their willing, concealed agents…

His brilliantly well written, nearly convincing arguments being just one of their many voices, cleverly scattered throughout the American media (and internet), with the sole intent to influence views and opinions which have not been entirely shaped
----------------------------------
As for the views and comment posted, which were (so far) very quickly browsed, one could hardly find more diversely opposed opinions in a single site - some not surprising, such as Shelly and Dnb’s (clearly in the left) and Ric’s (or Ricky) – a shocking right wing advocate; naturally there were many “unknown characters” whose remarks could not be measured against existing framework.

The bottom line, however, is the recognition for Olavo’s de Carvalho’s eloquence and magnificently convincing distortion of questionable issues (as well as some assumptions).
The gentlemen appears to be so remarkable, to represent a significant challenge for all liberal intellectuals across the planet...

Overwhelmed! Joao!!!

One of the things I noticed about you in our brief (and hopefully a long) association is that you slightly " slow" in capturing the "natural beauties" the God has bestowed upon our land. That is the reason I decided to nudge you and stimulate your long forgotten fond memories of our "Noble Republic".

It must be the particular color of the garment, or something along these lines which must be affecting my mind...
