A New Daily from Washington to Brazil PDF Print E-mail
Written by Newsroom
Monday, 04 April 2005

Beginning Oct. 31, 2005, U.S.-based United Airlines is scheduled to offer customers additional daily nonstop service between its airport hub at Washington Dulles International Airport and Varig's hub, São Paulo Guarulhos International Airport in Brazil.

"Our service expansion builds on the success of our existing daily flight to São Paulo from Dulles," said Graham Atkinson, United's senior vice president of Worldwide Sales and Alliances.

"Varig and the Star Alliance network enable us to meet a growing demand for our award-winning service among our business, government and leisure customers traveling to and from Brazil. This additional flight also enhances our international presence at Dulles and affirms our long-standing commitment to the U.S.-Brazil market."

Both Washington Dulles-São Paulo flights are timed to maximize convenience and connections at both Washington Dulles and São Paulo, and will be operated with B767-300 aircraft, configured with United First 10 seats, 32 United Business seats, 71 seats in Economy Plus and 80 seats in United Economy.

Flights opened for sale on April 2. Varig is Brazil's largest carrier and has the most extensive service of all Star Alliance carriers in South America.

With key global air rights in the Asia-Pacific region, Europe and Latin America, United is the largest international carrier based in the United States.

United is also a founding member of Star Alliance, which provides connections for our customers to nearly 800 destinations in 139 countries worldwide. United's 60,000 employees reside in every U.S. state and in many countries around the world.
