TV Brasil Airs Arab Summit to the World PDF Print E-mail
Written by Érica Santana

At 9 this morning, the International Public Channel, TV Brasil, began its coverage, in Spanish, of the South America-Arab Countries Summit being held in Brazilian capital Brasília.

In charge of the experimental coverage is a 37-member professional team that will produce 12 hours of daily programming directly from studios in Brasília at the Ulisses Guimarães Convention Center and the Hotel Blue Tree Alvorada. Live footage will also be incorporated.

This is the second transmission by the Brazilian State channel, a joint effort by the TV Senado (Senate TV), TV Câmara (Chamber of Deputies TV), TV Justiça (Court TV), and Radiobrás to strengthen the processes of integration in South America.

As was the case during the V World Social Forum, held in January in Porto Alegre, the TV Brasil's digital signal was offered to the countries of the Americas and Europe.

The station will also cover the business meeting and cultural events parallel to the Summit. Heads of state, entrepreneurs, and representatives of 23 Arab countries and 11 South American countries will be in Brasília for three days, May 9-11.

Viewers can also accompany the programming, live and in real time, via internet at the site: www.radiobras.gov.br.

The partner stations, TV Senado, TV Câmara, TV Justiça, and Radiobrás, will retransmit the newscasts as part of their own programming.

They will be aired at 8 P.M. on the NBR, 10:15 P.M. on the TV Senado, and 1 A.M. on the TV Câmara. The TV Justiça will retransmit all of the TV Brasil's coverage beginning at 9 P.M.
