The South American-Arab Countries Entrepreneurial Fair began yesterday in Brasília, the Brazilian capital. During the fair, countries display their products and promote negotiations.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Relations, 1,250 entrepreneurs are registered to participate on this event parallel to the Summit of South American-Arab Countries.
The President of the Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce, Antônio Sarkis, says that in the last years the increasing interest of Arab entrepreneurs in Brazil, as well as the visit of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva to Arab countries in 2003 stimulated business between the two regions.
"Trading was gradually increasing, and undoubtedly, President Lula's visit was a great impulse," Sarkis said. "Brazilian entrepreneurs must pay attention to all markets and this new market has a great potential."
Sarkis says that Brazil can export to Arab countries more hospital and health related equipment, vehicles, buses, trucks, agricultural equipment, tractors, clothing, and footwear. He also mentions the recent sale of 15 Embraer aircrafts to Saudi Arabia.
