Japan will send an economic mission to Brazil still this year, on a date yet to be set. The interest in increasing the commercial exchange between the two countries involves areas such as iron ore, oil, railroads, ethanol, and cow and pork meats.

The information is part of the Joint Program for the Revitalization of Economic Relations between Brazil and Japan. The document is the result of the visit of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva to Japan's Prime Minister, Junichiro Koizumi.

The program integrates a series of documents that Express, according to Brazil's Ministry of Foreign Relations, "convergence of opinions and positions."

The list includes joint declarations about the United Nations reform, as well as other international issues, in addition to memorandums on technical, social and educational cooperation, cultural and educational exchange, science and technology, environment, and sustainable development.

The document reiterates both countries willingness to support each other on their bid for permanent seats at the United Nations Security Council.
