Moltec, factory from the southeastern Brazilian state of Minas Gerais, wishes to expand their business in the Arab world. For such, the company will participate for the first time in a trade fair in the region: Motexha Autumn.

That event directed to the fashion and shoes sector will take place in Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates, between the 12th and 15th of September. "We have good perspectives of getting new clients and finding a point of sales or distributor for our products," said the stylist and owner of the company, Mary Almeida.

The company, which already sells to Saudi Arabia and Dubai, will exhibit metallic and dyed trimmings, handmade, garments with embroideries, as well as accessories like brooches, belts and necklaces. "With the few clients we have (in the region) we can already make a good evaluation (of the Arab market)," stated Mary.

According to the secretary general at the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (CCAB), Michel Alaby, in the Arab countries there is a great market for fashion artifacts. The consumers, he says, especially like dresses that shine. "They are party dresses, not for everyday use, with a lot of sequins and shinning appliqués," he said.

Even though Moltec has never participated in a trade fair in the Arab countries, Moltec has already exhibited in the events in Europe. The company also exports to Spain, Italy, France, Germany and United States. As well as the sequins, the company also sells costume jewelry abroad.

Founded in 1999, Moltec is a small family owned company. "We try to use different raw materials and transform them, make the product as different as possible and work in an exclusive way. Everything in the company  is artisanal and therefore we manage to produce well worked and creative pieces," said Mary.

According to her, 12 employees work in the company, which also counts on the services of another two companies. Monthly production, according to Mary, is of 150 kilos of trimmings and the annual revenue is of about US$ 285,000.

Moltec, which is based in the city of Belo Horizonte, will exhibit its products at Motexha in a space designed for Brazilian companies, organized by the CCAB.
