Members of the Brazilian Congress, representatives of the private sector and the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB, Ordem dos Advogados do Brasil) (OAB), along with union leaders, businessmen, workers, students and the population in general have planned a demonstration in downtown São Paulo today.

The rally is called the "Scream of Silence - Zero Corruption" and its intention is to protest corruption and impunity. The protest rally got underway at 10:00 am.

Meanwhile, in the Brazilian capital city Brasília, the international seminar on Proposals for a New Criminal Prosecution Model - Impunity Combat had its second and final day.

The encounter has discussed preliminary police investigations and penal action by courts, along with issues such as presumption of innocence, appeals and aggravated crimes.

Among others, the president of the Election Board (TSE, Tribunal Superior Eleitoral), Carlos Mário Velloso; the deputy underprosecutor of the Republic, Cláudio Lemos Fonteles; and the president of the São Paulo Election Board (Tribunal Regional Eleitoral de São Paulo) (TRE-SP), Álvaro Lazzarini, participated in today's event.
