Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer announced that the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration), which is the authority regulating civil aviation in the United States, awarded the type certificate to the Embraer 190, regional jet with capacity for 100 seats.
With this authorization by the American aviation authority, the aircraft is authorized to operate commercially in North American territory.
The certificate awarded on Friday, September 2, by the FAA took place three days after the Aerospace Technical Center (CTA, Centro Técnico Aeroespacial), of the Brazilian Air Force, did the same thing.
The CTA authorized the commercial utilization of the airplane in Brazil. Now Embraer may make its first deliveries to the aircraft's launch-customer, the North American JetBlue.
