Brazil Will Present Its Success Stories at Summit of the Americas PDF Print E-mail
Written by Nelson Motta
Monday, 31 October 2005

In his weekly radio program, Breakfast with the President, Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva pointed out that the 4th Summit of the Americas is important for the exchange of experiences with other Latin American countries, Canada, and the United States.

The main theme of the summit, which will be held this week at the Argentinean beach resort of Mar del Plata, is job creation and the role of governments in promoting development.

"It is important, because it will be a form of exchanging experiences. What is happening in each country for economic growth, what is happening for job creation, and what is happening for income distribution," the President affirmed.

At the Summit of the Americas, Lula wants to present what has worked well in Brazil's economic policy. "Brazil will present what we believe is successful in our economic policy," he underscored.

During the program, the President recalled that he has talked to the population to speak about the economy, showing that the country is faring well and that what is being done will enable Brazil to keep growing.

"I have spoken systematically to remind the population that our economy is growing and that exports are growing well. We have opened new markets, in addition to growing faster than the international average, and I am certain that the foundations, the sustainability of what we are doing, will enable Brazil to go on growing much more and, what is important, growing with low inflation."

Success stories ??????
written by Guest, October 31, 2005

...10 millions jobs were promised during his first mandate. So far...after 3 years....only 3 millions were created !!!!!
...400'000 MST settlements promised during his first mandate. So far...after 3 years.....115'000 or so were settled !!!
....What about reduction in wealth inequalities, crimes, insecurity, healthcare, infrastructure, interest rates, lending rates ??????
....What about the corruptions that increased....and were not reduced as he says...during his mandate ???????????????

Even the country growth...although good....was inferior to many similar DEVELOPING nations !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

To defend his growth rate...he voluntarily mix up the growth rates of developped AND developing nations...to have the look of his numbers be better than they truly are !!!!

Mr Lula....voluntarily mixes up a lot of numbers...as they simply suit him....politically and economically !!!!!!!

He really thinks.....that he has become a SAINT....that he is not !!!!!!!
