With the participation of 27 companies, the third Brazil Day in the United States underscores an important moment for the Brazilian capital market. The event, slated for November 14 in New York, is a showcase for firms interested in attracting foreign investment.

Transparency and detailed information are essential to satisfy the demands of the diverse group of investors seeking information on the performance, development and reliable prospects for sustainability of Brazilian companies.

Brazil Day 2005 is organized by Abrasca (Brazilian Association of Public Companies), Apimec (Association of Capital Market Analysts and Investment Professionals), Bovespa (São Paulo Securities Exchange) and IBRI (Brazilian Institute for Investor Relations).

The following companies have confirmed their attendance at Brazil Day 2005: Aracruz, Banco do Brasil, Banco Itaú Holding Financeira, Bradesco, Braskem, Cemig, CPFL Energia, CSN, CST, Ecorodovias, Eletrobrás, Energias do Brasil, Gerdau, Localiza, Natura, NET, Pão de Açúcar, Petrobras, Petroquímica União, Sabesp, Suzano Papel e Celulose, Suzano Petroquímica, Telemar, TIM, Unibanco, Usiminas and VCP (Votorantim Cellulose and Paper).

The Minister for Development, Industry and Foreign Trade, Luiz Fernando Furlan, will launch the event with an overview of the Brazilian economy and market progress. Bovespa and the CVM, Brazil's securities commission, will provide details on operational efficiency and regulatory frameworks that have allowed for a significant foreign investor presence in recent placements of shares.

The companies' presentations, broken down by sector, will be structured in eight panels. One of the panels will be concerned exclusively with the experience of new companies that came into the marketplace in 2004 and 2005: Ecorodovias, Localiza e Natura.

Other panels will address those sectors of the economy that analysts consider attractive for foreign investment in 2006 and beyond: Banks, Paper and Cellulose, Electricity and Utilities, Oil and Petrochemicals, Metallurgy, Telecommunications and Retail Services.

The event is being sponsored by Banco ING; Banco Pactual; BNDES; Corretora Agora Senior; CSFB; Ernst & Young; Itaú Corretora; JP Morgan Chase; the law firm of Motta, Fernandes Rocha Advogados; the law firm of Souza, Cescon Avedissian, Barrieu & Flesch Advogados; and TAM Airlines.

There will be support from The New York Stock Exchange (NYSE); Bloomberg; Conference Call; CorpGroup; FIRB - Financial Investor Relations Brasil; Global Finance; IR Magazine; the newspaper Valor Econômico; PR Newswire; the magazine Capital Aberto; the magazine Institutional Investor; the magazine Razão Contábil; the magazine RI, and The Global Consulting Group.
