Thursday, 26 January 2006

LAN Peru, a member of the LAN Airline Alliance, has just announced a  new direct service between Los Angeles and São Paulo, Brazil. The new route, scheduled to begin on March 22, 2006, will initially include four flights per week.

The new LAN Peru flight 605 will depart Los Angeles on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays at 12:10 p.m. and arrive in São Paulo at 8:30 a.m. the following morning.

The return flight LAN Peru 604 will depart São Paulo on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays at 7:30 p.m. and arrive in Los Angeles at 7:25 a.m. the following morning. These new flights include a stopover in Lima.

The new service will be operated with Boeing 767 aircraft.

"This new direct service offers passengers one of the best available options for traveling from the U.S. West Coast to Brazil, and is also the ideal route for those traveling from Asia," said Vlamir Domic, Vice President of LAN Peru.

In addition to LAN Peru's four new direct flights weekly, LAN Peru also offers connecting flights between Los Angeles and São Paulo (via Lima) on two additional days (Tuesdays and Saturdays southbound, and Mondays and Wednesday northbound), giving passengers the choice of six weekly flights between Los Angeles and São Paulo.

The LAN service alliance participating airlines, which include LAN Airlines, LAN Argentina, LAN Ecuador and LAN Peru, offer a vast route network that reaches a large number of destinations throughout the world, including the Americas, Europe and the South Pacific.

The alliance offers flights from North America to Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela with service from 29 North American cities, including daily flights from its Miami, New York and Los Angeles gateways.

Passengers traveling with any of the LAN service alliance participating airlines may accumulate frequent flier kilometers/miles in LANPASS or American Airlines' AAdvantage.

Additionally, passengers traveling with LAN Airlines or LAN Peru may also accumulate frequent flier miles in any of the oneworld member frequent flier programs.
