The executives of three major Saudi companies, who are travelling throughout Brazil, will be hosted Wednesday, February 1st, by the Brazilian ministers of Foreign Relations, Celso Amorim, and of Mines and Energy, Silas Rondeau, in Brazilian capital Brasilia.

They are in Brazil representing the companies Ma'aden, in the mining sector, and Sabic, petrochemical, as well as Sagia, investments agency of the Arab country. The group will also meet with representatives of the Bank of Brazil.

They arrived in the country on Sunday and had a series of activities in Rio de Janeiro on the last two days. Today, the businessmen met with Brazil's oil company Petrobras directors.

According to the under chief at the trade promotion operations division at the Itamaraty, the Brazilian Foreign Office, Rodrigo Azeredo Santos, who is following the group, Petrobras presented their projects, especially in the petrochemical area, to the Saudis.

"They saw that this is a growing sector in Brazil and that Petrobras is interested in partnerships with foreigners," he stated.

The group also met the president of the Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES), Guido Mantega. The main theme of the conversation, according to Azeredo, was the role of the bank and the financing opportunities it offers to foreigners wanting to invest in Brazil.

The president of Ma'aden, Abdallah Dabbagh, also met with executives of Brazilian mining company Vale do Rio Doce. Ma'aden is interested in taking investments from Vale to Saudi Arabia.
