Lula Says He Trusts UK's Justice on Case of Brazilian Killed as Terrorist PDF Print E-mail
Written by Carolina Pimentel
Thursday, 09 March 2006

British Prime Minister Tony Blair and Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva talked this Thursday, March 9, about investigations on the case of the Brazilian electrician, Jean Charles de Menezes, killed last year by British Police, when he was mistakenly thought to be a terrorist.

Questioned by a British journalist whether the police was holding back information about the case, Blair said that investigations will not stop, and lamented once gain the death of the Brazilian man.

President Lula emphasized that the Brazilian government is willing to cooperate with the British government to lessen the pain of Jean Charles' family. Lula affirmed Brazil's confidence on UK's government and Justice.

Before boarding the plane back to Brazil, Lula will talk to Jean Charles' cousins at the British airport, according to the Ministry of Foreign Relations.

TRUST IN UK GOVERNMENT & JUSTICE...

President Lula has affirmed confidence in the UK 's government and Justice. But, is Lula going to affirm that same level of confidence in the Government and Justice be afforded to Brazilian citizens?

Well, given Brazil's system of shoot first, burn bodies later - he's really not in any position at all to finger-wag in Blair's face about Justice.

TIME FOR CHANGE
written by Guest, March 09, 2006
I agree these practices are barbarous but don't you think Lula and this government could have a change of heart?

Maybe just maybe, Brazil might change?
