Brazil's Industry Output Is Up 3.2% Thanks to Exports PDF Print E-mail
Written by Cristiane Ribeiro
Wednesday, 15 March 2006

Brazilian industrial production increased in 12 of the 14 areas included in the Regional Industrial Survey, of the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE).

The data issued this Wednesday, March 15, by the IBGE show that, in comparison with January 2005, national industry went up 3.2%.

The best result was in the state of Pará, which registered a 10.7% increase. Industrial production only dropped in the southern states of Rio Grande do Sul (-2.0%), and Paraná (-5.3%).

The survey coordinator, Isabela Nunes Pereira, evaluates that the beginning of 2006 presented a higher growth rate than the average of 2005 last quarter (1.3%), and that this "movement" happened both nationally and regionally.

She recalls that January industrial performance remains related to the production of durable and non-durable goods, such as automobiles, cell phones, television sets, medicine, and exports of cellulose and iron ore.

On the basis of this growth profile, an expansion of internal consumption is observed, based mostly on credit and on the improvement of the salary mass, and on the maintenance of the so-called "vigor" of exports.

To what school I. Pereira went ????????
And what degree ? Just pre-juvenile grade ?

Because it would seems normal that 3.2 % is higher than 1.3 %.

But Pereira...EVALUATES that 3.2 % is better than 1.3 % !!!!

Terrific...and lamentable !!!!!
Dead wrong Pereira !

Brazil will never have a true internal demand, for the simple facts that YOU have the world highest interests rates...after inflation.

Worse : When corporate borrower mus pay around 30 to 40 % intersts while inflation is around 5 %....YOUR COUNTRY WONT REALLY DEVELOPS !

EVEN WORSE :
WHEN CONSUMERS MUST BORROW AT RATES BETWEEN 60 TO 80 % and up to 150 % for overdrafts, it means that they will pay double the price.
when you know that your average citizens are not that wealthy....YOU WILL NEVER EVER HAVE A TRUE INTERNAL DEMAND.

THAT MEANS YOU ARE ADDICTED TO EXPORT OR STARVE....AS YOU DID SO MANY TIMES IN THE PAS DECADES.

DESPITE YOUR SELIC RATE WENT DOWN 2.5 % IN THE LAST FEW MONTHS, BANK RATES DID NOT GO LOWER !!!!!

It looks like that even if your SELIC rates would go down to 10 % over time, your banks will still charge so much premiums (40 to 100 % more than the SELIC rates) that whatever your rates will be, internal will never truly grow.

Your banks have simply A LICENSE TO STEAL, ISSUED BY YOUR GOVERNMENT, WHO IN RETURN IS PAID BACK THROUGH CORRUPTION !!!!!!

No one benefits.... except a few....the same as during the last 200 years !
