Brazilian Airlines Gol was named the most competitive airline of Latin America, according to rankings disclosed by AmericaEconomia Magazine.
In the general ranking, Gol ranked fourth out of all 100 companies included in the listing, which included several industries. To elaborate the ranking, each company's average Return on Assets (ROA) was calculated for the past three years. Each company's results were compared with the average ROA of its respective industry. Gol ranked first in the airline industry with its average ROA growing to 19.6%, while the industry recorded a drop in ROA of 0.6%.
