Thursday, 29 June 2006

Brazilian Minister of Foreign Relations, Celso Amorim, participated Thursday, June 29, in the ministerial meeting of the G-20 (the group of 20 developing countries), at the World Trade Organization (WTO), in Geneva, Switzerland.

He also attended the ministerial meeting of the NAMA-11, the group of countries coordinated by South Africa in the context of access to markets for non-agricultural goods.

Also on his schedule, a meeting with the Foreign Trade Commissioner of the European Union, Peter Mandelson, and participation in the encounter of the G-6 (an informal group that includes Brazil, Australia, the European Community, the United States, India, and Japan).

At night Amorim attended a dinner offered by the Indian minister of Trade, Kamal Nath, to representatives of developing countries.

Friday, June 30, he will take part in the ministerial meeting called by the director-general of the WTO, Pascal Lamy, and, on Saturday, July 1, he will attend a meeting of the WTO's Trade Negotiations Committee.
