Three Brazilian Stewardesses, Orphans of Varig, Make the Cover of Playboy PDF Print E-mail
Written by José Wilson Miranda
Wednesday, 16 August 2006

After five months without getting payment from their moribund employer, Varig, these three stunning Brazilian flight attendants were ready to do anything, even take their clothes off.

That's when Playboy came knocking with an offer that showed to be impossible to refuse: pose in the nude for the magazine and in return get money worth many years of work.

Now the three beauties, who dared to bare it all, have become the cover girls of the Brazilian Playboy's September issue and instead of the unemployment line they found a place in dreamland and are making big plans like buying an apartment, going back to school and starting a business.

The newest Playboy bunnies are Patrícia Kreusburg, 29, Juliana Neves, 26 and Sabrina Knop, 27. They ended up posing - not very original - inside a little jet. At least for them the sad story of Varig, which fired more than 5,500 employees had a happy ending.

It's not the first time that Playboy takes advantage of jobless and destitute girls. The same happened in 2002 after the Enron debacle. At that time the magazine took off the clothes of several former employees of that company.

Sabrina, from Porto Alegre, in the Brazilian south, had already some brush with fame in 2001 when she was elected Varig's Queen of Stewardesses. She says that she had never dreamed she would be one day on the cover of a magazine, much less in a so-revealing pose.

But she already knows what to do with the money she got: the belle will buy an apartment and finish college. Her brother didn't like the idea of having her naked on the corner's newsstand, though, but she teased him: "How many people do you know whose sister appeared on Playboy?"

Patrícia says that it took her some time to decide, but the money was too good to insist on having scruples. With her part of the loot she will get a Master's degree, a car and there will be still some left for retirement. And she found an unexpected fan: her husband, who according to her is very proud to see her baring it all.

As for Juliana, she is using the money to advance her career in Aesthetics. Her family, at first, didn't like the idea of her nude modeling, but changed their mind on hearing all the monetary advantages the young lady would get.

Please help the woman of Brasil without exploiting them.
written by Oc, August 16, 2006
As a brazilian mother of 6 girls. I am sad to find out how the men of the world especially Cristians exploit the suffering woman and children of Brasil by Providing material things for prostitution exchange. Would these men have their own sisters, mothers or daughters placeced in the same positions under the same circumstances? As we know what goes around comes around and some day things might be just as well with their own loved ones.
Is it that hard to invest on these woman and children without exploiting them?
Why not teach them correct principles so they can govern themselves instead of encoraging imorality as a easy way out? Thank you Playboy for your efforts in continuing to push our woman and children a little further down the precipice. Many young girls will now dream of being playboy bunnies just in order to survive, imagine that ! You have succeded in selling the false freedom evil dream all around the world " and Satan will continue to bless you, but only for a short period of time"

"Knowledge is power" And the powerfull shall have control, set a price and sell you out.
A few hundred years of opression, political domination, and brain washing will break anyone in to accepting a carefully schemed malicious role of submission to exploitation where one would weaken their values to the point of proving the false idea that " Yes, they will do anything if the price is right"
Most woman will sell themselves to their own decadence, and WHY are you men encoraging and contributing to that? Your mother, your sister, your neighbor and friend. You have the power to help her but instead you choose to assist her in to self destruction. Why?
.Playboys have the money and power to educate the woman and children of the world without striping them of their dignity. Who is the beast here?
Enough money and power there to by airlines and other business that would not only keep the beautiful girls dressed while employed, but many of the boys could work it as well.

HELP IS NOT A WORD OF MEN\'S VOCABULARY
written by Karen, August 19, 2006
This world of consumism seems to be all about having and never being. Most men will really encourage immorality of women if they have a chance and never seem to manage to provide them some values. All they care is exploit women. Like the "beloved" husband of one of the women, they wouldnt think twice on selling their wives daughters and sisters to prostitution. All some men care is their bellies their pleasure. Big pigs and hypocrites!!

To the Brazilian mother of 6: I guess I don't understand what is so wrong about posing nude in Playboy. They are just pictures, and tasteful ones at that. Playboy has always been tasteful in how they photograph women. Now, if you are against nude photography on principle because your religion tells you so and you are a body-hater then I have nothing to counter that kind of thinking. I have the issue of Playboy in question and I think that those three Brazilian ladies are very beautiful. So much so that I would like to marry one of them. I don't consider Playboy to be exploitive. They do everything lawfully, and the women who pose are treated with respect and do receive compensation. Compared to the rest of the adult entertainment industry, Playboy is extremely high in it's standards.

  • Iranian Leader's Visit to Brazil Takes the Gloss off Lula's International Image

Ahmadinejad meets LulaThe only good thing to say about the visit to Brazil of Iran's president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, on Monday November 23, is that it was mercifully short and lasted less than 24 hours. Ahmadinejad had his picture taken being hugged by president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva who gave him a warm welcome and said Iran had every right to develop nuclear energy for peaceful purposes.

  • Poor Women from Northeast Brazil Learn Joy of Meeting and Helping Each Other

Joined hands The small, coastal town of Condé is located just a twenty minute's drive from João Pessoa, the capital of Paraíba. The Northeast of Brazil has historically been a place of encounter and mixing between peoples. For millenia groups of indigenous people fished, farmed, migrated and sometimes fought along this large, fertile area.

  • Ahmadinejad's Visit: Iran, Honduras and Brazil's Hypocrisy in Dealing With Them

Ahmadinejad and Lula The Brazilian diplo-MÁ-cia (bad diplomacy) carries on its accelerated course towards the non-acknowledgment of human rights, although sometimes it takes pleasure in saying that it does precisely the opposite. The visit of Iran's president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, is another example of a diplomatic omission that verges on hypocrisy.

  • Lula Is About to Fulfill His Wish of Getting His Good Friend Chavez in Mercosur

Lula and Chavez On July 4, 2006, representatives of Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay met in Caracas to sign the protocol for the entrance of Venezuela into the Southern Common Market (Mercosur). After two and a half years, the protocol was approved by the legislative bodies of Argentina and Uruguay, and as of now it may be only days away from being ratified by the continent's economic megalith, Brazil.

  • Denying Education is the Other AIDS. And Brazil Is Guilty of Inflicting It

Children from a Diadema band Some sectors of the fight against AIDS have suggested that Thabo Mbeki, the former president of South Africa, committed genocide through his absence from the fight against the illness in his country throughout his two terms.

  • Child Labor Went Down in Brazil, But 5 Million Underage Workers Are Still Way Too Many

Child labor in Brazil One hundred and eleven years after Brazil abolished slavery, the number of workers deprived of their freedom is still huge. They raise cattle, produce charcoal, sugar cane or timber. Some of them, most undocumented Bolivians, work in basements of small apparel factories in São Paulo and other metropolis.

  • Some Humility Would Do Lula Good. On Human Rights Brazil Has Long Way to Go

A prison in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil On November 7, 2009 a few friends and I had an opportunity to take a look inside a Brazilian jail outside the city of Rio de Janeiro. We were able to take some amateur footage of our experience on video (see link below). It's no surprise, of course, that the typical Brazilian jail lacks some of the functionality of those in North America or Europe, but our experience that day was quite shocking.

  • Brazil's Amazon Rainforest Policy Is a One-Way Road to Disaster

Trasamazonian road in BrazilDepletion of the Amazon Rainforest is not a new concern facing environmentalists, biologists, ecologists, and a growing number of the Amazonian indigenous peoples. For decades they have feared for the fate of the world's most biologically diverse and species-rich hothouse.

Geisy decided to wear a pink mini-dress to her private college in São Paulo state, and after that, all hell broke loose.

  • Vigilante Groups in Brazil Trump Drug Gangs and Become Rio's New Authority

Brazilian favela in Rio The push of vigilante groups in Rio de Janeiro's favelas (shantytowns) in the last three years is the most important and alarming information of the just-released study by the Rio de Janeiro University's Violence Research Center (Nupev-Uerj).
