Brazilian in UN's Three-Men Commission to Probe Israeli Excesses in Lebanon PDF Print E-mail

A Brazilian ambassador is one of the three members of a commission appointed by the UN to probe civilian killings in Lebanon by Israel. The three were named Friday, September 1st, by the United Nations Human Rights Council.

The High-Level Commission of Inquiry will be examining what the Geneva-based body termed "systematic targeting and killings of civilians by Israel" in Lebanon.

The three experts are: Clemente Baena Soares of Brazil, a former Secretary-General of the Organization of American States (OAS); Mohamed Chande Othman, a judge on the Supreme Court of Tanzania, and Stelios Perrakis of Greece, who is the Director of the European Center for Research and Training on Human Rights and Humanitarian Action.

The High-Level Commission of Inquiry was established in August by a resolution of the Council, which mandated it to investigate the Israeli military actions against Lebanese civilians, examine the types of weapons used by Israel and their conformity with international law, and assess the extent and deadly impact of Israeli attacks on human life, property, critical infrastructure and environment.

The resolution, which was adopted by a vote of 27 in favor to 11 against with 8 abstentions, strongly condemned the "grave Israeli violations of human rights and breaches of international humanitarian law in Lebanon."

The decision also called on Israel "to observe the principle of proportionality and refrain from launching any attack that may be expected to cause incidental loss of civilian life."

Baena Soares was secretary-general of the Brazilian Foreign Ministry between the 1979 and 1984 and OAS's secretary-general from 1984 to 1994. The Brazilian diplomat is now a member of the UN's International Law Commission.

.....you should clean first your own dirty and s**tty house.
Simply because there are far more innocents murdered annually in Brazil by your own police, than during the last Israel/Lebanon war and worse even during the actual Iraq war.
A simple stat. IN 2005 IN RIO ALONE OVER 1000 DEATHS HAVE BEEN COMMITED BY YOUR OWN POLICE. WORSE : THIS DOESNT INCLUDE YET THE KILLINGS MADE BY YOUR DEATHS SQUADS !!!!

With such a terrible record, how can you pretend to give lessons to others ???

During the recent various SP chaos, "did you observe the principle of proportionality and refrained from launching any attack that may be expected to cause incidental loss of civilian life" Thus why the Governor Lembe recognized that innocents have been killed by the police ? Obviously not once the number of innocents killed have been provided. If they were 3 to 5, the number will have been given. This just shows you that a lot is being hidden on the sad reality.

You havent realized yet that the FCC is like the Hezbollahs. Both are criminals and both acted illegally even in their own country Lebanon and Brazil.

You aint see nothing yet as to how the FCC is going to harm you. Despite the recent warning they have delivered you....in writing, and published on this same site quite recently.

Finally, if you effectively did put in jail all your corrupted officials from your federal/states/municipalities/government agbencies...... no doubt you would not have enough prisons cells even if you freed all the FCC members actually in jail.
Not all FCC members commited crimes, most commited robberies. The reality is that your corrupted officials robbed 1000 times more and NONE are in jail or were in jail for a long time.

This clearly shows thet you dont know, on purpose of course, what Justice means.

Brazil is simply a country governed by white collars criminals and crooks. A medieval and archaïc country where written laws are applied to the majority of poors but never to the governing officials, those who have written and voted the laws. Absolutely unbelievable.....but true....unfortunately !
