Written by Newsroom
Friday, 23 March 2007

Brazil Embraer's Legacy executive jet Brazilian aircraft company Embraer announced yesterday, March 22, the delivery of the 100th unit of its Legacy executive jet airplane. The buyer is ABS Jets, a company based in the Czech Republic, which received the aircraft at the Embraer headquarters in the city of São José dos Campos, in the interior of the southeastern Brazilian state of São Paulo.

The jet was launched in 2000 and its first deliveries were made in 2002.

"From our headquarters in Prague, we will be able to fly to all European countries, without exception, and even to most Middle East countries, with no scales," said Marian Jancarik, managing director at the Czech company, according to a press release by Embraer.

According to the Brazilian company, units of the Legacy model have been sold to customers in 19 different countries. Last year, 27 jets were delivered. The forecast for 2007 and 2008 is of 25 to 30 orders fulfilled.

Still according to Embraer, the Legacy 600 has capacity for up to 16 passengers and a reach of 6,019 kilometers, allowing it to fly without scales from New York to London, from London to Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates, or from Moscow to Addis Ababa, in Ethiopia.

The basic model sells for US$ 24.7 million. Also available is the Shuttle version, with capacity for 19 passengers, and the Shuttle HC, for up to 37 passengers, which cost US$ 18.6 million and US$ 19.35 million, respectively.

Yeah... if those guys were in charge of the Legacy cockpit, a global catastrophe warning should be issued a few days before the flight. Y'know, just in case...

Don´t respond to fools ric. The Braz government is closing the books on the investigation, and there won´t be a CPI. Meanng, like the locked up docos pertaining to the military dictatorship, everything will remain speculation. And that´s what feeds this population, cachaca, novelas, soccer and speculation. We wouldnt want a few facts getting in the way of a good ole hatefest now would we?

and that the police are objective enough in their investigation not to overstep aviation authorities...

You better watch out what you say about other countries and people. I think you people have enough enemies around the world.

  • Poor Women from Northeast Brazil Learn Joy of Meeting and Helping Each Other

Joined hands The small, coastal town of Condé is located just a twenty minute's drive from João Pessoa, the capital of Paraíba. The Northeast of Brazil has historically been a place of encounter and mixing between peoples. • Ahmadinejad's Visit: Iran, Honduras and Brazil's Hypocrisy in Dealing With Them

Ahmadinejad and Lula The Brazilian diplo-MÁ-cia (bad diplomacy) carries on its accelerated course towards the non-acknowledgment of human rights, although sometimes it takes pleasure in saying that it does precisely the opposite. The visit of Iran's president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, is another example of a diplomatic omission that verges on hypocrisy.

  • Lula Is About to Fulfill His Wish of Getting His Good Friend Chavez in Mercosur

Lula and Chavez On July 4, 2006, representatives of Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay met in Caracas to sign the protocol for the entrance of Venezuela into the Southern Common Market (Mercosur). After two and a half years, the protocol was approved by the legislative bodies of Argentina and Uruguay, and as of now it may be only days away from being ratified by the continent's economic megalith, Brazil.

Child labor in Brazil One hundred and eleven years after Brazil abolished slavery, the number of workers deprived of their freedom is still huge. • Some Humility Would Do Lula Good. On Human Rights Brazil Has Long Way to Go

A prison in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil On November 7, 2009 a few friends and I had an opportunity to take a look inside a Brazilian jail outside the city of Rio de Janeiro. We were able to take some amateur footage of our experience on video (see link below). It's no surprise, of course, that the typical Brazilian jail lacks some of the functionality of those in North America or Europe, but our experience that day was quite shocking.

  • Brazil's Amazon Rainforest Policy Is a One-Way Road to Disaster
