Shoes Not Only Made In But Also Of Brazil for the Foreign Market PDF Print E-mail
Written by Newsroom
Wednesday, 30 July 2008

Brazilian Shoes A program for encouraging exports of Brazil made shoes called Brazilian Footwear, is going to hold a foreign campaign in the coming months to promote national shoes. The leading mote of the campaign is going to be "footwear made 'of' Brazil." The idea is to link products made in the country to positive elements in Brazilian culture that are already known on a global level.

The campaign was created by agency SPR, based in the city of Novo Hamburgo, in the state of Rio Grande do Sul. A stylized shoe shaped after the Brazilian flag is going to be used as an icon, according to the director at SPR, Juliano Henneman.

The logo brand of Brazilian Footwear is going to be used in the campaign. It will feature in images that praise Brazil in different ways and highlight features of national footwear, such as quality and design.

Graphic resources used in the advertising pieces link the shoe directly to the magic that involves Brazil, including its natural beauties, art, history and, above all, the strong concept of collectiveness.

"Brazil is a country that surpasses individualism, and life happens by means of relationships, the connections between people and their culture," Henneman explains. The images of the campaign make an instant association between the product and its origin.

Companies affiliated with the Brazilian Footwear will be able to use the images as elements of their own adverts, according to information supplied by the Brazilian Association of Shoe Manufacturers (Abicalçados), which promotes the Brazilian Footwear in partnership with the Brazilian Export and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brazil) and footwear sector unions.

The campaign should help boost Brazilian exports in the sector. In the first half of this year, Brazil shipped 89.4 million pairs to the foreign market, representing a decrease of 2% over the same period in 2007.

Revenues from foreign sales, in turn, grew 1.5% to reach US$ 951.1 million, as against US$ 936.9 million recorded from January to June last year.

"Double-Dot" (..)

While flatthered by the attention, I'm curious about the "Poppyc**k" remark, as the sole reference found was very surprising and utterly unlikely
Which makes me wonder...

In fact... It may even warrant the use of yet a new quote, and from totally different quarters...

"Say first, of God above or man below,
What can we reason but from what we know?"

Reality For Better or For Worse...
written by dnbaiacu, July 31, 2008
Brazil is a country that surpasses individualism, and life happens by means of relationships, the connections between people and their culture," Henneman explains.

You have to admit this is kind of true. For better or for worse. To the 3rd degree. If you are well connected, you get over. If not?...oh well! If they want to sell this truth to the world, more power to them.
In Brazil this reality is the ONLY to survive. It can drive you crazy sometimes if you are not used to it. Because it forces you to put "emotions" into situations that could very well be "strictly business" , in most cases sparing yourself of undo "drama".
But ,, such is Brazil smilies/cheesy.gif
If you just need me for something or want to use me for something. Just be "out" with it.. Don't song and dance me! Get to the point!

I'm afraid some of the "song & Dance" actually bring color to one's life...
Being an advocate and great admirer of certain "colorful, long rituals" from the European Past, I must object to your objection smilies/smiley.gif

Admittedly my North American side has had a little bit more influence on me smilies/smiley.gif
I just learned something though. That the "song and dance" is also very much European and not only African. Never stopped to think about it. And I never spent "enough" time in Europe to pick up on that.
It just stresses me out sometimes going into another gear "in thinking" back and forth from the U.S to Brazil

FURTHER REPLY (AUGUSTUS TO dnbaiacu)
written by AUGUSTUS, July 31, 2008
First of all, my new friend - what on Earth does your "designation" signify? dnbaiacu -- Is it some unwordly Amazonian creature or something? LOL

Now, I've been in North America, living in "practical, fast, no BS" Manhattan for very long (longer than many blogger's have been alive) and YET... I will always appreciate a corronation, or a Royal Wedding - I still remember watching when Lady Spencer married (the insipid) Prince Charles over 24 years ago!!!! I watched the whole bit

Cheers

Shameless Nameless (LOL - love the designation)

Perhaps you my "taste" precluded me from such knowledge.
Yet, I did some "research" utilizing the hellish 21st century tools available, and came across some "pretty weird result" - a single one, my you - and it was WAY to bizarre.....LOL

I urge you not to be charmed and deceived by the modesty transmitted by our Lord Augustus. He is fully familiar with the tools of the 21st century and utilizes them ruthlessly. After all, he was the one who wrote a famous article (I forget where) titled "The Keyboard is mightier than a Sword" and received acclamations from the citizens of all the countries in the mailing list of the U.N.

AUGUSTUS PUZZLED BY SUDDEN "ATTENTION"
written by AUGUSTUS, July 31, 2008
Dear Sir (not sure if the Real "DOUBLE-DOT"
So much credit and attention upon my humble efforts are likely to be unwarranted...
Indeed, I'm afraid I cannot claim credit for the composition of the aforementioned Essay- "The Keyboard is mightier than a Sword"

I truly dislike our era, and honestly feel as an outsider, condemned to eternal nostalgia, longing for Chivalry, Elegance, and Style...
I suppose, I utilize the clever modern tools, available today mostly to remind other kindred souls, of the immense beauty as well as the significant valor of the Glorious Past of Western Civilization...

AUGUSTUS AMUSED BY DOUBLE-DOT
written by AUGUSTUS, August 01, 2008
Esteemed Double-Dot
Just to think back, several days ago, when we got acquainted by some zesty but clever (and, as always well written) strong criticism of yours regarding some of my... how can I put it?... regarding some of my "colorful, overly-enthusiastic" views regarding the Brazilian Franco-Portuguese Aristocracy today and regretting the failed referendum of 1989... We surely have come a long way!

What shall we do in order to discipline Dnbaiacu appropriately? hmmm..
Misbehavior requires PUNISHMENT; there is no question about this premise!
I've ALWAYS been a firmer believer in that point of view....
So… What do you suggest?

Yes Indeed and I never realized that you were an intelligent aristocrat!

and regretting the failed referendum of 1989...

The distinguished bloggers in this site (including myself) would certainly be interested in hearing in your rich prose (and flowery language) as to why the referendum of 1989 failed and which rascals were responsible for the disaster.

What shall we do in order to discipline Dnbaiacu appropriately?

To live in the miserable "Lone Star" state and travel every other month to BA is by itself a punishment and I urge you to show some clemency to the youngster and not to punish him any further smilies/cheesy.gif

I agree to disagree. smilies/smiley.gif It is all good. Though I have to defend those of us who are made out to be "silly" at best.
I must advise you though.( and I'm no seer, but I pay attention to them) But such topics (religion and "other life forms") will increasingly become headline news globally as we move along in time.. When this becomes more and more evident, maybe we shall indulge again smilies/smiley.gif

written by AUGUSTUS, August 03, 2008
dnbaiacu,
Despite valiant efforts, I failed in my attempt to locate your views, which I admit being rather curious to uncover...

I've searched the designated web site - under various sections, especially under the segment designed for "Serious Political issues".

As such, I trust you will consider indulging me by providing additional - more specific – details.

This must be a sister site. Joao indicated it to me. The same company. www.brazzil.com. I commented "Where is Brazils Obama". Brazuca is on target. Although the race issue bores me. I HAVE to comment on it to help eliminate the ignorance and arrogance on the topic.
See you there. smilies/smiley.gif
