The work developed by Brazil in the last 12 years for fighting child labor is an example that should be followed by other countries. This is the opinion of the National Coordinator of the International Program on the Elimination of Child Labor (IPEC), of the International Labor Organization (ILO), Pedro Américo Oliveira.

"In the last 12 years, Brazil reduced child labor by 40%. Today, both ILO and the UNICEF - United Nations Children's Fund, in addition to other UN agencies, evaluate Brazil as a pioneer and a model to be followed," affirmed Oliveira.

In May, ILO will release, in the Brazilian capital Brasília, a study in which it analyzes the child labor situation in the whole world, under the Millennium Goals perspective.

Nevertheless, Oliveira estimates Brazil will have to double its efforts. He says that even though the outcome of these 12 years of combating child labor has been positive, it has lately become less effective than it used to be.

What Brazil needs is ACTION...ACTION.....ACTION.

Exposure....openness....scandals....people going to prison for crimes regardless....huge fines.....dismissals....restructuring......no more excuses.

Then conditions will change in Brazil for the better,maybe?

NGO\'s % IGO\'s BUD OUT!!!!

It's time that the NGO interloper's bud out of the picture unless they can offer something positive. In casual discussions with adolescent Brazilians one sees the increase in drug usage and boredom of having nothing to do. Better to study these programs more comprehensively rather then just picking a politically sexy theme of every thing under 18 has been abused, promarily to support the greediness of the NGO interlopers and their surrogate moralist clients, the English speaking countries.

Child labor can not be eliminated until influences Governments to generate rural employment and development. To meet target of 2015 Governments must reevaluate its economic growth policies for illiterate and semiliterate population.
